Our group is finally complete! Our last two students arrived yesterday so now we are 29 strong. We are beginning Week 2 with another beautiful, sunny morning. This fresh, mountain air is a wonderful way to start a new week. Thank you Jesus!
James Rafferty gave us this mornings spiritual bread...
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31 NKJV)
3 Points
1. Peter faltered once on the water but how many of us never even step out of the boat? How many never step out of the church or the place where we are most comfortable? Coming to Arise is stepping out of the boat. The church plant is stepping out of the boat. As we take that step of faith, Satan is going to send the waves and wind to scare and distract us, to fill us with fear.
2. We can walk on water if we are walking to Jesus. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus, which is easy to do...like looking to our instructors or other people or even ourselves. Satan will do everything to distract us.
3. Believe that Jesus is always there for you. When you don't believe in yourself, know that Jesus will always believe in you.
